The artist is Repin
During the spelling of the painting “October 17, 1905”, the paired portraits of her husband and the wife of Trudoviks were created by Repin. The artist posed a cook and carpenter who worked in Kuokkala. So the painter imagined a new type of “active” peasantry. Interest and readiness for decisive action are most clearly visible in the gaze of the husband-china, the dark silhouette of which shakes the warm yellow background.
