Artist – Petrov -Vodkin
The artist was always returning to his small homeland. Here was his house and workshop, which he built on his own project. Moreover, it was here that he received the impressions without which it would be impossible to move forward. In a series of works by Petrov-Vodkin, each subsequent is a particle of a single whole. In search of greater harmony, he repeats and varies close motives that are significant for his work. In many of its canvases, the roundness of the Khvalyn hills is repeated, closing the earth and the sky. Secrets of real space and close family bins are invariably present in the artist’s creative consciousness.
