The artist is a schoolboy
A native of the Jewish town in Ukraine, Joseph Schoolboy forever preserved attachment to the motives of provincial streets with their small white houses, touching, not always well -written signs. But, as in the cloud -close and mood of the paintings, in the provincial landscapes of the student, this world appears to be transformed by his picturesque vision. The painting “Province” is one of the characteristic works of this kind. Built on a combination of bright local tones, this landscape in its frank color can remind the theatrical decoration, which is not surprising, since the schoolboy worked in the theater for many years.
